
M11 Energy Transition Pvt Ltd and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of Mysore collaborated on an awareness event at Sankalp Central Park, Yadavgiri, Mysore, focusing on the safe disposal of used cooking oil. Led by Mr. Chida Shivanna and Ms. Poornima Kumar, the event highlighted the health risks associated with improper disposal of used cooking oil in sewage and emphasized the benefits of reusing it for both household health and environmental conservation.
Dr. Ravindra Salkatte from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of Mysore District introduced the RUCO program, aiming to divert used cooking oil from the food value chain and prevent illegal practices. The program promotes the conversion of used cooking oil into biodiesel, ensuring health safety for citizens, energy security, climate change mitigation, and environmentally sustainable development.
Mr. Chandrasekar.B, Chief Business Development Officer at M11 Energy Transition Pvt Ltd, educated the Sankalp Central Park community on the health hazards of improper oil disposal and advocated for converting used cooking oil into biodiesel. He outlined proper disposal methods and the collection process for converting the oil into biodiesel.
Mr. Chida Shivanna pledged that his household and community at Sankalp Central Park would adopt sustainable methods for disposing of used cooking oil, aiming to support the environment. He also aimed to encourage other households in Yadavgiri to participate in the green movement by responsibly disposing of used cooking oil.
Mr. Ranganathan, the CFO of a large automobile parts manufacturer residing at Sankalp Central Park, expressed interest in implementing similar initiatives at his company, which generates used cooking oil from serving food to 4500+ employees. They aimed to dispose of the used cooking oil sustainably.

Placing the Used Cooking Oil disposal containers in all wings of Sankalp Central Park apartments will make it convenient for the community to responsibly dispose of their used cooking oil. This initiative ensures that the residents can easily and properly discard their used oil, contributing to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to managing cooking oil waste.
The collective goal of the team, including the community members and the automobile parts manufacturer, is to contribute to achieving a Net Zero status by 2070 for the nation by responsibly managing used cooking oil and promoting its conversion into biodiesel.
